Ola al Haj Hussin is responsible for developing and managing Crescent Enterprises’ corporate citizenship portfolio and its strategy. She also oversees the development of the Company’s philanthropic partnerships with regional and global organisations.
Ola has more than 15 years of expertise in humanitarian programme development, monitoring and management with both corporations and non-profit foundations across the Middle East. She has spearheaded manifold initiatives in the culture, education, and social enterprise sectors.
Prior to joining Crescent Enterprises, Ola held fundraising and monitoring roles at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UNICEF. Earlier, she contributed to the enhancement of the Syrian social entrepreneurship scene by serving as a Project Manager at the Arab Gulf Programme for Development, where she worked on several microfinance projects. She had started her career at the Fund for Integrated Rural Development of Syria, where she was involved in in the design, monitoring, management, and fundraising for socio-economic projects in over 80 zones in Syria.
Ola holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Sciences degree from the University of Damascus, Syria, and a diploma in French Translation from Lumière University Lyon 2 in France. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Development Studies from the University of Reading in the UK and an Executive Leadership and Management degree from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
Ola served as a steering committee member for the United Nation’s Small Grants Programme and as a United Nations volunteer providing psychosocial support for disadvantaged children in Syria.
