Gulftainer, the world’s largest privately held port operator and a subsidiary of CE-Operates, our operating business platform, has launched interim and complimentary Express Service Lanes. Since March, Gulftainer has utilised its Express Service Lane in the UAE to accelerate the delivery of over 200,000 metric tons of medical and essential supplies through its Sharjah Container Terminal to support the UAE in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic. Globally, Gulftainer’s Express Service Lanes have so far prioritised more than a million tonnes of essential supplies.
The new service leverages the latest technology while harnessing upstream visibility and predictive analytics to ensure containers carrying hospital and medical supplies are detected and treated with priority, expediting the process through the port and customs.
“The prompt and efficient delivery of medical equipment and supplies plays a crucial role in ensuring the health of the nation—particularly during these unprecedented times when the world is battling a pandemic. The Express Service Lane enables our ports across the UAE to expedite critical supplies and get them to the brave caregivers in the community, in the shortest time possible,” commented Peter Richards, Group CEO of Gulftainer.
Gulftainer’s Sharjah Container Terminal is also actively encouraging customers to use its secured digital payment platform for convenient and seamless online processing of transactions.
